Why you should use and setup Parts Demand Rating

Setting up the Parts Demand Rating on a Parts Group allows you to categorize and rate your parts on a monthly basis to get a visual ranking of how fast your parts are moving. 

Once you have started rating your parts you can now start to use that rating in the Parts Inventory Count feature in Softbase.

When you create an Inventory Count from the Parts page in Softbase you can run a Cycle Count for parts with a specific Demand Rating value.  

This allows a Dealer to count their faster moving parts more often to ensure their available quantity stays accurate.  

Parts that have more demand are touched more often by parts personnel it is important to ensure their available quantity in the system stays accurate to ensure they are there when you go to sell and that you are keeping them stocked in an efficient manner. 

This also allows a Dealer to identify and count their faster moving parts more often than other parts 

Parts Reporting using Parts Demand Rating

Another benefit is that once as Dealer has a Demand Rating on parts is that they are able to take that into account when creating on demand reports to analyze their Parts Inventory.

A Dealer could run a report to see slow moving parts that have Quantity on Hand and haven't sold in a certain time frame to use to produce a return to vendor to lower their costs of Parts Inventory they own.    

A Dealer could also look at faster moving parts and evaluate their stocking parameters to ensure they are stocking the correct amount of the part based to be able to provide for their customers.
