Microsoft Entra SSO Integration

Overview

This article will cover the setup in Softbase Evolution needed in order to integrate with Microsoft's Entra SSO (Single Sign On) application.  

When this feature is turned on and you setup users in Evolution to use this your users will login to Softbase Evolution using Microsoft Entra SSO credentials vs. using credentials setup in Evolution.  

When this is turned on and your users are using it the 2FA and Password reset options in Softbase Evolution will also not be used as that will be handled via the Microsoft Entra SSO application.   

Prerequisites

• Users setup in Microsoft Entra SSO application.  
• Request Softbase Evolution Support to turn on the Microsoft Entra SSO Feature.  
• Email Address of the Evolution User matches the Email Address you will use in the Microsoft Entra SSO Application.  
• Set the SSO checkbox on the user record in Softbase Evolution for the users you want to use Microsoft Entra SSO. 

Setup

• Once the Microsoft Entra SSO feature is turned on in Evolution, go to User Management -> Users and set the SSO checkbox to checked on the users you want login with Microsoft Entra SSO.  
  • Ensure their Email Address setup on the User record in Evolution matches the Email you have them setup on in Microsoft Entra SSO.  

** Note **  Once you turn this on for a user they will be required to login with Microsoft Entra SSO vs. using Softbase Evolution credentials.  

Login

• Once the Microsoft Entra SSO feature is turned on and a user is setup to use that in Evolution on the Login page they will use the Login with Entra Button on the Login Page.  That will call the Microsoft Entra SSO Login page and allow them to enter those credentials and authenticate with options setup in that application.  Once they have authenticated to Microsoft Entra SSO successfully they will be redirected to Softbase Evolution and logged in.
